Project report Dortmund, German Football Museum

Delivery and welding of a rainwater retention system DN 2200 made of PE with min. 40 m³ Volume.

The German Football Museum is located in the immediate vicinity of Dortmund Central Station. The underground drainage systems of the outdoor facilities had to be constructed.

Stormwater from the entire property is routed to a manhole. Here, an additional 40 m³ underground stormwater retention basin was required to buffer the water volumes that would be generated in the event of a 100-year rainfall event.

We received the order for the manufacture, delivery and welding of the DN 2200 rainwater retention system made of PE-HD coiled pipe.

In accordance with the specifications, a design variant with a length of 10 m, a DN 1000 manhole and DN 400 inlet and outlet was finally found.

The pipe was prefabricated and supplied at the factory to optimize installation on site and, not least, to speed up the laying work. Due to the low weight of the pipes, the components could be easily lifted into the excavation pit with an excavator.

During installation, the site was comprehensively supervised by our technical field service and an experienced welding technician, thus ensuring optimum professional installation.
